Very good post. I like the last figure - I've seen a simplified version in the IPCC AR4 (Synthesis Report, section 2.4) but not this one. Do you know where it came from? I'd quite like to find the data and make my own graph...

We recycle everything we can - glass, paper, cardboard, plastic bottles, bottle tops, tins (cans), light bulbs, batteries, clothing, electronic items, metal, wood, rubble, garden waste... but we still end up with several bags of non-recyclable rubbish most weeks. It's hard to avoid when so many things are made of or packaged in plastic and other materials which can't (yet) be recycled.

I have been telling everyone in Franklin County this for years but no one listens to me because I am only 17 years old. Of course I will prove them wrong once i get my meteorology degree from UT Martin in about four and a half years since I wont start till Fall 2011.
